ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible to sit for any AMCA (division of ASB) examination the individual must meet one of the requirements below;
Test Requirements:
- Graduate from an approved program (proof of completion is required)
OR
- Have 2 or more years of work experience and be currently working in that field
Entities that recognize the certification:
Institute for Credentialing Excellence
Period certification is valid:
2 year requirement for maintaining or renewing certification: proof of 10 hours (every two years) of continuing education relevant to the field of expertise.
Continuing Education
The AMCA requires 10 hours of continuing education to keep your certification current. These six hours can be taken through your current place of employment.*
*Most healthcare occupations offer CE classes in a variety of topics. Presenting a certificate of attendance/completion is proof of continuing education.
- 1 hour is equivalent to 1 credit
- Courses taken at an accredited institution are weighed differently. Please direct all CE questions to an AMCA representative.
